Here’s another post about increase blog traffic with Blog SEO. Have you heard about the SEO term called “Deep Linking”?
If you have not heard of it, deep linking is basically a strategy which you build links for other posts in your blog instead of the main page you want to rank only. This might seems unnecessary to many bloggers because many bloggers think:
“What’s the point of building links to pages that you don’t want to rank for any keywords?”
It seems like a waste of time and energy. But that’s not very true. There are 3 benefits of using “Deep Linking Strategy”:
1. Your Blog will rank for the keyword you want much faster. When lots of blog posts have higher PR instead of “n/a”, the backlinks from each of your posts to the main page became stronger. Another reason that you’ll rank higher because Google rank websites by considering the backlinks of the entire site too.
2. You’ll get unexpected Search Engine Traffic from each of your blog posts. When your individual blog posts have some backlinks, it have some authority in it. When people search for weird terms, Google will put you blog posts on the first page and you’ll get free visitors. That’s how popular blogs get search engine traffic from thousands of keywords they didn’t even plan to rank for.
3. It helps you rank faster and avoid the sandbox. If you are building backlinks too aggressively, Google might put your page in a sandbox that makes your blog. You are not recommended to build more than 10 links on one page which is from a new blog. If you want to speed up, all you need to do is create 10 other page and build 4-5 links to each page. That gives you a total of 50-60 backlinks to your blog.
Here’re some ‘Deep Link Strategies’:
1. Submit To Blog Carnival
Submit your post to BlogCarnival.com. For every post you submit to blog carnival, you create 1 link to your blog’s main page and 1 link to your post you submitted.
2. Article Submission
Many article directories allow you to have 3 links at your resource box or author bio. You can have one of the link to your main page and two of them to other page.
3. Interlinking
It is good to have each of your post link to each other. Everytime you finish writing a post, you can always link back to some previous post which is related. Try not to use ‘click here’ or ‘read here’ to link to those post. Use the post title or some keywords you want that post to rank for. You can use ‘Similar Posts’ plugin to do that for you too. All you need to do is just paste a code in your blog theme and it’ll pick related post for you.
4. Blog Commenting
If you comment on many blogs everyday. Try to use some of the url of your blog posts on the ‘URL’ part when you give comments. It is ok to use this strategy on nofollow blogs instead of just dofollow ones because either one helps in ranking.
5. Web 2.0 Sites
You can use other web 2.0 sites such as Squidoo, Hubpages, free blogs to do so. Just do use them too aggressively or else it will be marked as spam.

Deep linking isn’t such a good idea if the page you link to has no identifying characteristics, such as a brand or a recognizable URL. To minimize confusion, link to a higher page and include instructions on how to click into the appropriate resource.I recommend creating deep links as part of your overall web site marketing strategy instead of just getting links to your home page.

You’re right. I do mention that bloggers can use interlinking too in the post. Blogger can definitely link to pages which are keyword rich, posts which have quality content or posts which is planned to target certain keywords.
We don’t need to link to our homepage because all posts are linking there by default at the header area!
