Do you know that your blog might been ping banned by some sites due to ping spamming?

Let’s learn something about ‘Ping’ even you are an experienced blogger. ‘Ping’ is actually a service provided by some websites to help bloggers to announce their new blog post to the world. These websites includes the most popular blog search engine too- Technorati.

With ‘Ping’ service, you can get your new blog posts indexed within hours (I usually get it indexed less than 10 minutes). You might get some backlinks and referral traffic from directories.

Most of us don’t need to worry too much about ping because we use Wordpress as our blogging software and wordpress blog will automatically ping itself everytime we publish a new post.

However, the “Thing” that we usually don’t need to worry has became something that we need to worry!

Due to the increase in black hat seo blogger and spam blogs, ‘Ping’ is misused and exploited by people to get more traffic. So, websites which provide ping service are starting to ban sites which are overusing ‘ping’. If you ping your blog many times within a short period, your blog might already got banned by these sites.

Don’t believe? I got a blog which is a PR2 blog got banned for ping service 3 months ago. I didn’t realize it at all. Now, I got to either continue or give it up.

These are the things that might cause your blog to get ban from ping services:

1.Editing your posts many times in a day. Each time you edit, your blog will ping your blog. Most experienced bloggers love to adjust and edit their post over time to rank for different keywords and to increase the stickyness of the blog. I used to edit 20 posts a day.

2.Using black hat tools such as automated posting for your blog and didn’t set the time each post get published. This is very dangerous because some automated posting tools will update 10 to 20 posts as long as there’s a change in others content.

One of the solution to it is takeaway the list of ping services in your setting when you are planning the mass edit your blog post. You could also manually ping your blog at Autopinger.com. Another option is using MaxBlogPress Ping Optimzer plugin.

This posts is meant to give you some awareness about issues related to blog SEO. When your blog is banned from ping services, it is not going to be easy to rank in the search engine anymore. And Blog SEO is one of the major traffic sources for bloggers. Just take note of this and have fun blogging!
