How was yesterday’s post about Black Hat SEO Techniques?
Did you learn something new that blows you away or open your eye?
If you did, I’m happy for you. Today, you’ll learn something called the Grey Hat SEO Techniques. It is Grey because it is in the middle of black and white. I’m going to say this again:
Use It At Your Own Risk!
People who are using these methods are not caught yet simply because Google haven’t realize the existence or haven’t find a way to deal with them yet. Sometimes, I think Grey hat is more risky than Black hat in a way.
Ok, Grey Hat SEO Techniques are mostly about link building. Here’s how it works:
1. Mini blogs:
Using Web 2.0 tools to build lots of links. The Grey Hat SEOer (that’s how I call them) will go to register free accounts that allow them to create free webpages around the world and use these pages to link back to their blog.
These webpages are created from free blogs, squidoo and hubpages. All you need to do is post an article and link to your blog. They are all free to create and normally it only needs you to approve.
This approach is hard to be detected by Google because they are all created by you manually. There are no obvious patterns that Google can catch.
2. Link Auto Exchanger
Some of you might heard of it. I use this one before. Basically you register your site and you’ll get a script to insert in one of your webpages. The script allows the website to exchange links automatically within all the members. You’ll get 2 way links automatically.
This is no longer as useful as last time because Google weight 2 way links lower these days because they know many Internet marketers are exchanging links. Once the member increases, Google will find a way to catch all members and penalize them.
3. 3 Way Link
Created by Jonathan Leger. He realized that 2 way links are not longer effective. So, he created this membership site that allows people to join with a monthly fee. You’ll also need to insert a script in your webpage. The website will use all members site and link to each other.
However, the members’ websites will not link to each other directly. They’ll go through one more site to complete the whole 3 way linking structure. For example: A link to B, B link to C, C link to A. Every website get 1 one-way backlink.
Smart idea. But someone realize that Google know their existence. I don’t know is Google is going to create a new algorithm for it or not. However, Google will definitely do something when more people are using it!
I think my sharing about Black or Grey Hat will end here. Tomorrow, I want to talk about methods to increase blog traffic fast. See you tomorrow!
